Bad tidings
My mother-in-law was admitted to the hospital this morning.

Okay, so the backstory is, she's been sick for a week. Throwing up, etc. Yesterday, her husband finally talked her into/dragged her to Urgent Care, where they took bloodwork, pronounced her sick with a bladder & kidney infection, prescribed antibiotics, and sent her home. Yesterday evening, she was finally able to eat/drink something and keep it down. This morning, the bloodwork came back, and the hospital called and told her she needed to come in, that she was dangerously dehydrated, and her blood pressure is far too low. Fast-forward to this afternoon, and they've gone through two IV bags and taken more bloodwork, and still her blood pressure is staying far too low, so they've admitted her for overnight. Also, apparently the infection has moved on to her blood stream.

That's all I know.

I've known far, far too many people over sixty who go into the hospital for something seemingly minor, but somehow mysterious, and it ends up taking a horrible dive within a day or two, and suddenly they're gone. I don't really think that is the case here, but it's a worry in the back of my mind. TPTB have been very quiet on the worrisome "infection in her blood" issue, and they also thought her blood pressure would return to normal within an hour or two. It's been like six, and nothing.

Oh hell.

Here's hoping that antibiotics do the trick and soon. I'm here if you want to talk or anything. Sending prayers and good thought your way.
