The bad and good of my weekend:

The bad - last week, you may remember I had a consistent headache for four days, and Friday I went on my lunch hour and got a half hour massage to relieve some of the tension causing said headache. It was a deep tissue, trigger point massage, always painful, but designed to release the muscles knotted up that give me migraines. I had to go to a new MT because my usual lady couldn't get me in. The new one, well, let's just say excruciating pain describes the experience pretty thoroughly. She took the trigger points and stuff much farther than Jess does, and it HURT. A lot. So, Saturday, I woke up with a migraine. Caused, it seemed to me, by the bruised and injured muscles in my neck/shoulders. I had a hair appointment Saturday afternoon, and you know the sinks you lean back on for the shampoo? OMG, I almost cried. It was not a fun experience, let me tell you. (But my hair looks awesome - it is the best cut/color combo I've had in recent memory.)

The good - but though i may have had a day of hell, when I woke up yesterday morning, there was no trace of headache left. And most of the pain in my neck/shoulders was also gone. Sure, they're a little sore yet, but at least the headaches/migraine are GONE. Yay.

And then last night my Mom took us out to dinner for our birthdays (Mark's and mine are twelve days apart) to the restaurant where she works as the pastry chef, and I had to most amazing scallops and the best creme brulee ever. (Seriously, no one makes creme brulee or eclairs as amazing as my Mom's. I had the worst time deciding which one to have. Waaaaaaay better than birthday cake!)

More bad - so, we still haven't done our taxes. *winces* I mean, I'm waiting on Mark to add up the last few receipts (because they're in Japanese, and I don't know what they say) and have been for awhile now. He's going to do it tonight. I woke up in a panic last night, thinking our tax lady might not be able to get us in this week now that it's literally down to the wire, and we have no one to blame but ourselves....and then I couldn't get back to sleep. *sigh* Which is all terribly ridiculous, cause if our tax lady really can't get us in, H&R Block or somebody will. I mean, there are seven days left. Sure, we procrastinated and put it off, but we aren't the only ones, and we've done the same in the past (because we SUCK) and have never had a problem. But worrying about this in the wee hours of the morning actually made me feel physically ill. Or, I suppose that could also have been all the heavy cream and butter I consumed at my gourmet birthday meal the night before. It's a toss up.

In an amusing twist, when I checked the mail from the weekend this morning, we had received Important Tax Documents from our mortgage company - apparently, the copy of the interest we've paid on our mortgage they sent back in January was incorrect, and they are just now getting us the corrected paperwork. Nice.

I hate tax time. We had turned ours in to the accountant in early February - but then we've had late stuff and corrections coming in the last one came in two weeks ago!

We haven't heard back yet, but it should be ready this week. I hate the down to the wire thing!
