cooking
I forgot to post these over the holidays. After bringing a spiral cut ham to our office TG potluck, I took the bone+remnants home, and made something I hadn't had since childhood - homemade ham and been soup with equally homemade fried bread. I took pictures to commemorate this event. My mother was shocked - promising me fried bread with frosting on it for dessert was the only way she could get me to eat the soup as a child. As an adult? YUM.

This is a meal my grandfather used to make, and then my mother, and now me. I crave meals like this in the winter - hearty, warm, satisfying and delicious, and at least in the case of the fried bread, fattening:

Last night was curry chicken. I have no idea what I'll be making tonight, but I wish I had whatever it will be going in the crockpot already.
