Posting from the backwoods
We arrived at the cozy cabin last night....to find the hot tub not working.  This happens to us literally every year, no matter how many different houses we try. However, the management company sent us out the most amusing repair man ever within the hour.  He literally tapped something with a screwdriver to make it start heating.  Then he told us these electric hot tubs are like that, sitting in the damp and snow with all that circuitry.  He was very nice, and funny, and promised to come back if it stops working again.

I forgot my bluetooth mouse, so I've spent some time this morning figuring out how to scroll with Mac's trackpad, and also how to right click.  I must be able to quickly and easily do these things while writing along/reading along, or it will drive me mad.  Luckily, I can, fairly easily.  I like the trackpad a little better now. :)

Sadly, other things forgotten were sugar and creamer for the morning coffee.  I miss my espresso machine and grinder, though at least the coffee beans are good, being freshly roasted from Stumptown.  I just wish they weren't pre-ground, but at least there is coffee, and I can buy some sugar and cream today at the store.

Everyone else is off to the mountain, so it's just me and the fire and Mac, which means it's time to start writing.  More coffee first, though, I think.  Even though it's black.

Ooooh! Enjoy!

M and I went to the Whaleshead Beach Resort in November, and it was wonderful. We just hung out, wrote, and talked. Really was one of the best vacations ever for us. We're going to go again in the next year or two, but definitely longer than the 2 days we went the last time.

Happy writing!

Gotta love those get-away places and the peculiarities they offer. At one beach home we spent a week, the owner taped a note to the Krups. It said 'In the event of failure, empty of liquids, turn upside-down, shake vigorously for 30 seconds, try again, good luck.' We chose to skip coffee that week.

Have a great weekend, with lots of progress!

Also, I go nuts without a mouse on a laptop so I totally hear you.
