Star Trek
So, we watched a bunch of the special features last night, and about 3/4ths of the deleted scenes IMO, should have been left in the movie!

Most especially the scene with young!Kirk and his older brother at the farm with their Uncle. I have long suspected that was Jim's brother Sam walking along the road, but it took a deleted scene to confirm it. Also, the fact that the car belonged to his father, and their Uncle was such a POS that Sam was running away - kind of important, JJ Abrams! It explains why young!Kirk took the car, and why he drove it off a cliff. It wasn't a very long scene - WTH did you remove it?

Also, all the stuff with Gaila that got cut - whyyyyyyyyyyyyy? I loved the behind the scenes look of how Kirk cheated.

And the scene with Sarek and Amanda, 30 seconds, if that, and such a neat background to them.

Amanda: "When Vulcans get completely disgusted with each other, they never just walk away, do they?"
Sarek: "No."
Amanda: "Well, humans do!" *walks away*

Go Amanda!

In short, why did you cut all of that, JJ?? The movie wasn't that terribly long!

Humff. I'm still at the "Why did you destroy my childhood JJ?" stage myself.

Saw the movie once, on the big screen to give it a fair shake. Absolutely no desire to see it again, deleted scenes or no.

"STAR TREK" NOW WITH 80% MORE AGNST AND 200% MORE LENS FLARE! (Because, as you know, agnsts and lens flare is what makes good a ST story).

Hubby and I watched it yesterday. We are going to watch the extra scenes tonight!

Love that movie. Spock and Jim's acting together was brilliant. And, Bones was wonderful also! Got to love the LOTR actors.
