Shameful confession...
OMG, you guys Legend of the Seeker is kind of awesome!

I am torn. I was set to hate the show based on how disappointed I am in the books and the author. I loved those first three books so much it hurt, but the way the last few books were written, and worse, how personally betrayed and hurt I felt as a fan, because of a certain interview, took that love and trashed it.

Then the trailers for the show made it look sorta Xena-like, and I laughed sort of vindictively about it.

...but Netflix has it on instant watch. And I caved and watched the first couple of episodes. And you guys, it is not awful.

In fact, it is very, very pretty. Especially in Hi Def. OMG pretty. And the women are strong characters. I can't wait to watch more! Help!

Next thing you know, and I'll be plotting fanfic.

It's so Farscape like - but it's pretty awful and pretty AWESOME! Yet terrible. I watch it every week.

Interviews with the cast won me over, they are so earnest and adorable.

Indeed. That is a great description. Pretty. Awful. Awesome. Terrible. All of those things!

I know! I put it in my Netflix instant watch queue ages ago, with your voice in the back of my head, saying "Rhien....you know you should watch this....!"

Next time I'll listen sooner! ;)

We just finished the first season. <3 <3 <3

I am delighted to say the girls only continue to kick serious ass. WOO!

I CANNOT WAIT for them to catch up to introducing Cara. Although I suspect that will be S2. She was the sole reason I kept reading the books, there for awhile.

Ooooo actually she DOES show up in season one!

I haven't read the books and I've barely watched the show, but Shrii tells me that the books were disappointing, but the show is not. She's crazy about the show right and now and extremely happy with EVERYTHING on the show (she's caught up to current episodes), which I trust her opinion of as she tends to be very critical with her TV. I'd say keep watching. :)
