The Expendables
In other news, I totally saw The Expendables this past weekend.  First, we went camping, which was fun and one of my favorite trips.  Then we came home, dropped our stuff, showered, played some Lego Harry Potter, and took off for the late movie even though we were really tired.

It was awesome, in an 80's action flick kinda way.  Totally unbelievable, but that's kinda the point, right?  Spoilers...So, the dialogue in the scene between Bruce, Arnold, and Sly was TERRIBLE.  Like, did they write it themselves?  *shudder*  But it was cool seeing them all together, even for just a moment.  Almost to make up for that, the scene where Mickey Rourke's character talks about the woman he didn't save was freaking awesome.  Great acting.  Great moment.  This movie was this very odd mix of terrible and awesome, actually.  I think my favorite character was Jason Statham's Lee Christmas (dude, the name alone!). And I looooved seeing Charisma Carpenter.  "Now you know what I do for a living.  You should have waited.  I was worth it."  That was one of the awesome scenes.

Everyone is looking sadly old, though.  Even Jet Li is starting to show his age.  And Dolph Lundgren?  Wow.  *sniff*

But I enjoyed the heck out of this, and I hear it did well enough for a possible sequel.  Awesome!

The Expendables came out just today over here! I probably could have gone and seen it late tonight if I wasn't so busy with cats. The ones at the shelter, mine, the kittens I'm nannying, and the black kitten I set a trap for in a field near my house. Hopefully he'll get caught by tomorrow and I can bring him to the shelter. So no time for a kick-ass awesome movie with... basically everyone ever. Can't wait!
