Playing with Bpal
This has nothing to do with this post, but...When did LJ become FB??  Games, now we have games? Not only that, but Farm Frenzy?

As my husband would say, Judas Priest!  If I wanted to be on FB, I'd be on FB.  (I mean, I am on FB.  Technically.  I just don't ever use it.)

Whatever, LJ.  I'm going to pretend this new feature doesn't exist for the moment.

Now, on to the actual reason I was going to post.  I have Imps!  And I have been experimenting. It is actually really interesting how different many of the scents are in the bottle, compared to on your skin.

For example, today I wore Shanghai, described as "The crisp, clean scent of green tea touched with lemon verbena and honeysuckle."  When I put it on, I was doing my make up and kept thinking "what soap is that?" I kept smelling it, and thinking it was a bathroom scent, which typically aren't my favorite for perfumes.  Nice and clean, but...not for me.  I thought "Well, I won't wear this one again."  Then, hours later, I found myself catching a much softer version of the scent, more honeysuckle and less green tea and lemon verbena.  This, I liked well enough that I may wear it again after all.  We'll see.

I've also discovered that anything at all with even the slightest patchouli, no matter how many other notes it contains, will smell like nothing but patchouli on me.  It reminds me of my incense-burning younger days, but does not work for me as a perfume.  This makes me very sad, because I jumped the gun and bought a full bottle of Sin thinking it sounded perfect: amber, sandalwood, black patchouli, and cinnamon.  Unfortunately, I can't even tell there are any amber or cinnamon notes in this.  Incense, incense, incense.  Sad.  Now I'll have to find another home for the bottle, because I certainly won't ever wear it.  Alas.  I hope sandalwood without the patchouli does not have the same effect.

Snake Oil, described as their best selling scent by far, is my favorite to date: A blend of exotic Indonesian oils sugared with vanilla.  Love it!  A warm, lovely scent that just makes me happy!  I scented my long defunct car freshener with it today, and now I smell lovely spiced vanilla every time I get into my car. :)  I definitely see why this one is so popular.

I'm having a great time playing so far.  The scents have great staying power, and don't overwhelm to my nose the way so many perfumes can.

I felt the exact same way about the games feature, which only pushes me towards DW. LJ is becoming less classy. :/ Don't like it at all.

Good thing to know! I have that same problem with patchouli, so I will now take a couple imps out of the package that I still haven't gotten out yet. (sorry!) (and edit for autocorrect)
